The hockey locker room can be a pretty chaotic experience. They are typically swarmed with moms, dads, grandparents, brothers, sisters (the list goes on) and many young players that are too busy socializing with their team mates to even remember that they need to get ready for their game!

The hockey moms believe that it’s important for coaches, especially parents, to push their kids to be more independent and competitive.

“I think it’s totally fine if coaches are pushing the boys to be better hockey players on the ice, and be more self-sufficient in the dressing room,” Mezik said.
